In yet another accomplishment, Odisha won first place for creating the most ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts) IDs during the campaign for Universal Health Coverage Day in 2022.
On the occasion of the commemoration of Universal Health Coverage Day in Varanasi on Saturday, Dr. Brundha D, the Mission Director of the National Health Mission in Odisha, accepted the coveted award on behalf of the state health department.
An official announcement stated that the ABHA ID is a distinct health ID that allows individuals of India to access medical records whenever and wherever they want.
It provides a comprehensive digitalized history of their health, allowing doctors and other healthcare professionals in India to make the right diagnoses and treat patients more quickly and effectively.
International Universal Health Coverage Day (UHC) is observed annually on December 12. “Build the World We Want: A Healthy Future for All” is the theme for this year.
To pull it off, the health department launched a statewide, intensive Management Information System (MIS) campaign with a focus on developing ABHA IDs, enhancing the use of e-Sanjeevani (telemedicine services), and fortifying every e-Health initiative at the Sub-Centre level starting on October 12, 2022.
By utilising various portals, including the NCD portal, RCH portal, e-Sanjeevani, PMNDP, and Nikshya Portal, the state has created 43, 61, 895 (199%) number of ABHA IDs in response to the Center’s aim of creating 21.90 lakhs ABHA IDs (NTEP).
Thus, among all states and UTs, Odisha has achieved the highest ranking. The top 10 districts in the nation, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Ganjam, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Kendrapada, Balasore, Puri, and Keonjhar, are all from Odisha.
Despite several obstacles, Team Health Odisha has demonstrated the highest degree of dedication and commitment to achieving this achievement for the production of the most number of ABHA IDs in the nation.
