Trahi Achyut ashram was given status of ‘pilgrim spot’ by Odisha government
Odisha government on Thursday decided to withdraw tourism status for Trahi Achyut ashram, ashram of Surendranath Mishra alias Sura Baba from its official website as ‘pilgrim spot’.
Following the arrest of ashram chief and his two for illegal activities, the state tourism department decided to withdraw tourism destination status to the ashram located in Jhinti Sasan under Balipatna police station on the outskirts of the capital city.
It may be noted that the self-proclaimed godman Sura Baba and his two sons were arrested by Commissionerate Police on Monday. The police took them into custody after hundreds of locals ransacked the ashram.
