In the Malkangiri district of Odisha, police discovered four tiffin bombs, 20 web belts, 19 jungle hats, and a significant number of pharmaceuticals.
Following Delhi and Punjab, police-reported a large number of explosives left behind by Maoists was discovered in Odisha’s Malkangiri area on Friday. Four tiffin bombs, 20 web belts, 19 jungle caps, and a huge amount of pharmaceuticals were among the items discovered. The explosives were discovered in a forest near Maribeda and Nademanjari villages in the Jodamba police station area, according to Superintendent of Police Nitesh Wadhwan.
The police believe Maoist cadres from the Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee of being behind the recovery:
“We believe these explosives belonged to AOBSZC (Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee) Maoist members and were meant to be used against people and security forces,” he said.
The explosive was discovered during a combing operation by Special Operation Group (SOG) and District Voluntary Force soldiers in Swabhiman Anchal, near the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border (DVF). The officer also believes that the Maoists departed the region, leaving the explosives behind, as a result of the combing operation.
Wadhwan said this is the third seizure of Maoist-related items from the area in the recent month. Further combing and search operations are continuing in the area as a result of the seizures, he added.
