Bhubaneswar. 06 Feb. 2019: As many as 72,000 police personnel will launch a cease-work agitation from February 8 if their demands are not fulfilled by 10 pm today.
A decision in this effect was taken in Odisha police coordination committee meeting of Odisha Police Havildar-Constable-Sepoy association.
The meeting was attended by the three associations of the Odisha police—OSAP, OPA and Havildar-Constable-Sepoy association.
According to the decision taken in the meeting, the association has set a deadline of tonight for the state government to address their six-point charter of demands.
If their demands are not fulfilled, the association members will discharge their duties by wearing black badges. Subsequently, they will launch the cease-work agitation from Friday.
Notably, the state government had sought two days time from the Havildar-Constable-Sepoy association to look into their demands.
