“The Odisha government aims to generatr Rs.1000 Crors by disposing Shri Jagannath’s Land across the state in two years.”
A high level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Mr.Gokula Chandra Pati here on Tuesday discussed issues hindering making Shri.Jagannath land encroachment free. It is estimated that Jagannath Temple has 57,000 acre of land scattered across Odisha and outside. However, most of the land have been encroached by people.
In Khurda, Jatani and Bhubaneswar where value land is very high, about 1800 to 1900 acres of land of land are either lying unused or in possession of individuals. In first phase, 131 acres of Shri.Jagannath land will be sold by way of plotted scheme.
“Bhubaneswar Development Authority should take immediate steps to construct boundary wall around every Jagannath Land. Before that, survey of land should be conducted. To get higher price of land, auction route should also be explored,” Mr. G.C. Pati said emphasizing on widening income source of the temple.
Chief Executive of Shri Jagannath Temple Administration Mr.Suresh Mohapatra and Khurda District Collector Mr.Niranjan Sahu were present at the meeting.
