In a road rage incident on Thursday night in Cuttack town, a small child was seen being forced to kneel down by the nephew of Odisha agricultural minister Ranendra Pratap Swain on camera.
According to authorities, the nephew of senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and agricultural minister Ranendra Pratap Swain was detained by the Odisha police after a video surfaced showing him ordering a child to kneel down in Cuttack town on Thursday night after a road rage incident.
Amarendra Pratap Swain, 35, was detained by the Cuttack Sadar Police after the incident that took place close to the Pratap Nagari neighbourhood in Cuttack.
“The accused is one of the ten who tormented the child and made him kneel down after their autos collided. Rashmi Ranjan Mohapatra, the inspector in charge of Cuttack Sadar, stated that they had yet to identify the guy who was made to kneel.
On the outskirts of Cuttack town, at Pratap Nagari, two cars collided as one attempted to pass the other, according to the police. Following this, 10 kids got out of three different vehicles and got into a fight with the driver of the vehicle that allegedly bumped up against one of the vehicles.
After a disagreement about the automobile overtaking theirs, they assaulted the driver and made him kneel. Nirmal Swain, a local, attempted to step in but was also attacked by the mob. The police subsequently opened an investigation and checked CCTV evidence after he submitted a complaint.
