Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on 29th May 2023 unveiled the “Odisha for Artificial Intelligence” and “Artificial Intelligence for Youth” programmes, marking a significant advance in technology.
International technology corporation Intel has been enlisted by the state government for the project. The programme would be put into action in Bhubaneswar, Puri, and Cuttack during the initial phase.
With the itye app/site, Intel offers a free 4-hour AI training called Orissa for AI. It will initially be open to everyone in the three cities, and then to everyone in the state. The website provides comprehensive course information.
The kids under the age of 18 who attend 5T schools in phase 1 and Odisha Adarsh Vidyalayas are the target audience for AI for Youth.
The Chief Minister stated during his speech that artificial intelligence has the enormous potential to change our world and spur growth.
He claimed that one of the fundamental pillars of the 5-T programme, technology-driven transformation, has been the focus of his government and that this will increase peoples’ digital literacy and familiarity with the most cutting-edge technologies of the future. According to him, it would also develop an environment that supports research, innovation, and application in several fields.
Naveen thanked Intel India and the State Electronics & IT Department for their cooperation and urged all government agencies to benefit from these programmes and train their employees so they can lead the AI revolution. He expressed certainty that the project will use AI to boost the economy, alter governance, and improve the lives of our people and society.
The chief minister urged everyone to embrace this new phase in order to unleash the youth’s boundless potential and create a future in which artificial intelligence is used as a tool to empower people and promote inclusive progress in Odisha.
Tusharkanti Behera, the minister of electronics and information technology, emphasised the state’s technological drive that is reshaping Odisha in several industries. He claimed that this AI programme would elevate Odisha to the top tier of Indian states.
Nivruti Rai, the head of Intel India, also spoke at the event. Manoj Mishra, principal secretary for electronics and information technology, emphasised the importance of AI for the future of Odisha.
Senior executives including Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Secretary to CM (5-T) VK Pandian, and others were in attendance.
