The Odisha government will distribute laptops to the meritorious students right from the start of academic session.
Chief Secretary Shri.Aditya Prasad Padhi made the announcement at a high level review meet in the State Secretariat in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
He also instructed the officials to complete all the requisite preparations for the purpose by the stipulated time.
The tenders regarding purchase of the laptops will start from March.
More than 15,000 laptops were distributed to meritorious students during the 2015 academic year.
Chief minister Shri. Naveen Patnaik launched the scheme in August 2013. It is part of the Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana, an initiative under the Odisha Youth Policy of 2013.
