On Sunday, rain fell in a number of locations in Odisha as a result of cyclonic activity over the Bay of Bengal (BoB).
The cyclonic circulation over east central and the adjacent southeast Bay of Bengal between 4.5 and 5.8 km above mean sea level is still present, according to weather experts at IMD’s Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre. Around September 20, a Low Pressure Area is predicted to develop over Westcentral & adjacent Northwest Bay of Bengal off the beaches of Odisha and West Bengal under its impact.
Several districts in the State have received a yellow alert from the IMD in the meantime.
Over the districts of Kendrapara, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi, heavy rainfall is extremely likely to happen at one or two locations. Over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Puri Gajapati, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kandhamal Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri,Nayagarh, and Boudh, lightning-accompanied thunderstorms are very likely to strike one or two locations, according
