A Khordha district sub-inspector was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in her quarters.

On Sunday, the family of a police officer who committed suicide protested in front of the G Udaygiri police station in the Kandhamal district of Odisha. The woman’s family filed a complaint against her immediate superior, Rebati Sabar, stating that she was put under “extreme strain” as a result of her boss’s inappropriate behaviour and harassment.

Sub-inspector Swagatika Behera was the woman, and she was from Nirakarpur in the Khordha district. On Saturday morning, she was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in her G Udaygiri apartment. She was rushed right away to a nearby hospital, where medical staff pronounced her dead.

The sub-family inspector’s is calling for the senior officer to be taken into custody.

According to the woman’s brother, “My sister was under enormous pressure because of the misbehaviour and harassment imposed on her by her supervisor.” The woman’s family is calling for the arrest of her senior officer. We demand that her employer be fired and that a thorough investigation be done into the situation. Uproar will persist until justice is served.

Vinit Agarwal, the superintendent of police in Kandhamal, claimed to have spoken with the family members. An incident was reported to the G Udaygiri police station. An investigation is ongoing as per the SP’s instructions. Inquest proceedings will take place in front of the family members, and everything will be recorded on video. The investigation will proceed in accordance with the findings, and a medical team will be sent out for a post-mortem.
