Bhubaneswar,December 03: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday felicitated the 37-member team from the state which topped the medal tally with 21 medals at the recently concluded HAUSLA-2018, New Delhi.

Patnaik felicitated the children at the state Secretariat in the presence of Odisha Women & Child Development Minister Prafulla Samal.

The Chief Minister also declared cash prize for the medal winners. While the gold medalists were given Rs 50,000 each, the silver medalists received a cash award of Rs 30,000 each. Likewise, Rs 20,000 each was given to the bronze medalists.

This part, Naveen also assured them to take them to watch the Hockey World Cup-2018 at Kalinga Stadium.

Notably, the 37-member team from Odisha had topped the list of medals with 21 medals – 14 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze – during the 4-day carnival-HAUSLA for the children.

The national festival for children from Child Care Institutions (CCIs) witnessed participation of more than 600 Children from 18 states. They took part in various events like painting competition, athletics meet, football, chess competition and speech writing as part of the festival.

While the team from Odisha walked away with the Rolling Trophy, Chhattisgarh team finished second.

The four-day carnival was organized by the Union Ministry of WCD.
