Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will attend the oath-taking ceremony of Draupadi Murmu, who has been recently elected as India’s 15th President.

Beginning on Saturday, Patnaik will travel to New Delhi for four days. He will take part in the oath-taking ceremony on July 25 while he is there.

In the past, Patnaik congratulated Murmu on winning the race to Raisina Hill on behalf of the residents of his state.

Notably, all elected MLAs and MPs across the nation exercised their right to vote in the elections to select Ram Nath Kovind’s replacement on July 18.

Murmu defeated Yashwant Sinha, the candidate of the opposition, on Thursday to become the 15th President of India. While the latter received 6,76,803 votes, Sinha received 3,80,177.

By winning, Murmu will become the second woman, the first tribal woman, and the youngest person to hold India’s highest constitutional post. Additionally, she will be the first President born since Independence.
