The Odisha government has approved Rs 128.58 crore based on the district magistrates’ most recent estimate of flood damage and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Disaster Relief Fund.
The district administration’s damage assessment information showed that 14,235 homes, 1,236 cow barns, and 5,036 hectares of agricultural land had been damaged. Crop loss on 1, 26, 162 hectares of arable land exceeds 33 percent.
Up to 24 districts in the state were impacted by the floods and heavy rain in the second and third weeks of late August. It was mandated that the various districts and departments evaluate the harm done by the flood and severe rain.
