In a bold move to spur economic growth and industrialization, Odisha Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi announced today that the state has set an ambitious target of attracting investment worth Rs 5 lakh crore over the next five years. The announcement was made ahead of his two-day visit to New Delhi, where the Chief Minister will engage with ambassadors from various nations and key members of industry associations to lay the groundwork for the upcoming Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha 2025 conclave.

The Utkarsh Odisha 2025 conclave, set to take place in Bhubaneswar from January 28, is expected to be a pivotal event in drawing global and domestic investors to the state. During his visit to the National Capital, Majhi aims to highlight Odisha’s business-friendly environment and showcase the state’s rapidly improving infrastructure to potential investors.

“Odisha aims to attract investment worth Rs 5 lakh crore in the next five years,” Majhi stated before embarking on his visit. “I will hold discussions with ambassadors, business leaders, and investors in New Delhi and invite them to the Utkarsh Odisha-2025 conclave. My government will make all-out efforts to attract investment to Odisha.”

Focus Areas for Investment

The Odisha government has identified several key sectors where it seeks significant investment. These include food processing, information technology (IT), chemicals, petrochemicals, and other emerging industries.

With a focus on diversification and sustainable growth, Odisha’s vision is to become a hub for new industries while building on its traditional strengths in sectors such as mining and metals. The state’s strategic location, abundant resources, and a proactive approach to governance are expected to play a significant role in achieving this target.

Progress Under BJP-Led Government

The BJP-led government in Odisha has already made strides toward industrial development. According to Majhi, the state has managed to secure investments worth Rs 45,000 crore within the first 100 days of his administration. This, he emphasized, is just the beginning, as the government is committed to creating a conducive business climate for both domestic and international investors.

“With the blessings of Lord Jagannath and the support of 4 crore people of Odisha, my government will do the necessary work for the rapid industrialization of the state,” Majhi said. He further highlighted that Odisha is positioned as a key destination for investors due to its investor-friendly policies, improving ease of doing business, and strong infrastructure developments.

The Road Ahead: Utkarsh Odisha 2025 Conclave

The Utkarsh Odisha 2025 conclave is being organized as part of the state’s efforts to showcase the vast investment opportunities available in Odisha. During the two-day event, the state will present its policy initiatives, infrastructure projects, and strategic sectors to national and international investors.

The conclave is expected to attract prominent business leaders, global investors, and key stakeholders from across sectors. By facilitating dialogues and partnerships, Odisha hopes to secure its place as one of India’s leading industrial destinations over the next few years.

The state government is pulling out all stops to ensure that Odisha’s industrial potential is recognized globally. With the state eyeing major investments in new sectors, Odisha is well on its way to becoming an industrial powerhouse in the years to come.

Conclusion Odisha’s ambitious target of Rs 5 lakh crore in investment reflects the state’s commitment to economic transformation and growth. The success of the upcoming Utkarsh Odisha 2025 conclave will be crucial in setting the tone for the state’s industrial future. As Odisha positions itself as a key player in India’s industrial landscape, the next five years could well be a turning point in its economic journey.
