Under the orders of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, 5T Secretary Mr. VK Pandian is on a three-day visit to Kalahandi and Nuapada. Today, he toured the blocks of Nuapada, Sinapali, Khariar, Boden, and Komana and evaluated different development projects.
Mr. Pandian first went to Gadarmal’s Meda Lift Irrigation Project area and spoke with the locals there. 1630 farmer families are benefited by this project, which irrigates 819 hectares of land. The project’s goal is to persuade farmers to grow vegetables, maize, groundnuts, and cashews in addition to traditional crops. In order to provide irrigation services to more farmers, Mr. Pandian discussed ways to expand the project with the engineers from the Irrigation Department. He gave the district administration the order to put together and submit a report in this regard right away.
Similar to this, he had conversations with the locals and irrigation officials regarding the potential for irrigation in Konabira. For a Mega Lift project there, he instructed the district administration to provide a thorough report.
Moreover, Mr. Pandian has chosen to build a number of significant temples in Nuapada. He spoke with the locals and servants about plans for the Yogeswara Mahadev Temple at Patora. He gave the order to create and submit a thorough study for the temple’s rehabilitation and beautifying as well as the expansion of its tourism and water sports amenities.
He went to Patalganga and stopped at the Radhakrishna and Jagannath Temples, where he spoke with the temple committee members and obtained information about how to improve them. In order to reform the district, he instructed the district administration to prepare a report.
Similar to this, he went to the Sunadei Temple in Sunabeda and talked to the servants and locals about renovating and beautifying it. They asked that actions be taken to help the neighbourhood as a whole, as well as the temple. Determining that a report on the overall growth of the Sunabeda hilly region was necessary, Pandian instructed the district administration to prepare one.
Moreover, Mr. Pandian visited the Mission Shakti Café in Boden and spoke with its patrons. He talked about the issues and gave the district administration instructions to provide more facilities for them.
He visited the revamped Gopinath High School in Lithisargi and spoke with instructors, parents, alumni, and current students. They were content that the kids had access to a cutting-edge education. The students were given advice by Pandian to work hard in school and improve Odisha.
The 5T secretary assessed the Ama Hospital programme and examined different system metrics at the hospitals that serve as the Nuapada District Headquarters Hospital and Khariar Subdivision Hospital. He gathered patient input on the amenities offered and gave health officials recommendations to further enhance the system.
He spoke with representatives of the Mission Shakti, Block Level, District Level, and Gram Panchayat Federations in Silda. He asked the district administration to offer the women every form of support and aid for their complete elevation after realising their struggles.
Then, he went to the model bus stop at Nuapada that was still under construction and gave the order to finish it by the deadline.
Eventually, he listened to the locals’ criticisms and frustrations in the National College playground in Nuapada. He gave the district administration instructions to address their issues right away and to submit plans for all projects that needed state government approval.
