Asha Devi, the mother of the victim in the 2012 Delhi gang rape case, says the young veterinarian gangraped and killed near Telangana’s capital should get justice sooner than her family, which has been fighting for seven years.

In an interview with ANI, Asha Devi said what the Telangana woman had suffered was “barbaric”.
She said the young woman — who was in her mid-twenties — should get justice sooner than her own family, which has been fighting for seven years.

He has pledged to provide the victim’s family with all necessary help.
MERCY PLEA REJECTED
The Delhi government has recommended rejecting a mercy petition filed by one of the convicts in the 2012 gang rape case.
Asha Devi said she welcomed the decision, and that she hoped the accused would be hanged soon.
Her daughter, a paramedic student, was raped by six people on the intervening night of December 16-17, 2012, inside a moving bus in south Delhi. She was severely assaulted before being thrown out on the road.
She died on December 29, 2012, at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, where she had been airlifted from Delhi for treatment.
