New Delhi: The fugitive diamond merchant, Nirav Modi, who is the main accused in the Rs 13,500-crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud, has sought bail for the fifth time.
He has sought the bail over ‘anxiety’ issues. Earlier this month, a London court had extended the judicial custody of Nirav Modi till November 11.
The 48-year-old businessman has moved an application in a London court that he is suffering from anxiety and depression and therefore he should be at best kept in house arrest and taken out of jail.
The businessman has earlier made fourth failed attempts to get bail from the London court. It is worth mentioning here that the fugitive diamond merchant has not returned to India despite repeated summonses from Indian probe agencies and courts.
