The new team of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) will meet on Wednesday to chalk out strategy of the party for the coming days though squabbling over its jumbo size is yet to subside.
The extended executive of the State unit, which has nearly 200 members, is likely to adopt two resolutions, on how to strengthen the party from the panchayat level to be prepared for next panchayat polls and select issues to corner the BJP and BJD in the coming days.
General secretary of All-India Congress Committee (AICC) in-charge Odisha, BK Hariprasad and AICC secretary in-charge Odisha Subhonkar Sarkar will attend the office-bearers and extended executive committee meetings.
Following the announcement of the OPCC team seven months after taking over as the State president, the next important task before Prasad Harichandan will be to make the party organisations active in panchayat and block levels.
The bunglings in the Bramha Parivartan of Lord Jagannath and other deities and slowing down of the chit fund probe by the CBI will be major issues in the political resolution likely to be adopted at the meeting.
The controversial Sarathi Baba and alleged link of ruling party Ministers and MLAs with him will also be discussed at the meeting. The Congress, which has demanded a CBI probe into the matter, will want alleged link of the ruling party politicians with the self-styled godman to come into the purview of the probe. Besides, alleged sanction of MLA LAD fund for development of Sarathi Ashram and recommendations by ruling party politicians to make it a tourist destination will also be discussed.
The party will expose the secret link between the BJD and BJP in the State. Congress will expose the dual face of the BJD, chief spokesperson Ganeswar Behera said.
