Cuttack, November 25: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate a Model Police Station at Bhubaneswar airport and 34 others across the state on Monday.
This was informed by the Odisha State Police Headquarters today.
According to a press note, the Odisha CM will inaugurate the Model PS here at 5.15 pm. Top officials and other dignitaries will also be present on the occasion.
At 5.40 pm, CM Naveen Patnaik will also inaugurate the rest 34 Model PSs in the state through video conferencing at the Secretariat here, the press note further stated.
The new model police station, with state-of-art facilities, has been constructed near Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) Director’s office. The police station aims be people friendly and focus on women and senior citizens.
Reports said, the areas which will come under the jurisdiction of the new police station are Bhimpur, Pokhariput Phase-I and II, New Bapuji Nagar, New Palaspalli, Airport Colony, Ananta Vihar Phase-I and II, Ganganagar Basti and Kargil Basti.
Earlier, Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Sahu had informed that the new police station will have one Inspector, two sub-inspectors, as many assistant sub-inspectors, one havildar, 10 constables and one assistant driver.
He had also said the new police station will start functioning from November 26 ahead of the Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018.
Commissionerate Police has also set up a separate room at Airport Police Station for the nursing mothers. The room can be used by visitors as well as the police station’s employees who cannot leave their children at home.
