Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today granted monetary help for a Dhenkanal-based journalist, working with an Odia Daily, who is suffering from kidney failure.30-year-old Aditya Panda has been suffering from both kidney failure. He had applied for the monetary assistance under the Working Journalists Welfare Fund Scheme.
Advisor to Information and Broadcasting Department, Odisha, Mr Manas Mangaraj, today presented a cheque of Rs 2 lakh to Aditya Panda from the Working Journalists Welfare Fund.
“After the Chief Minister came to know about it, he immediately granted Rs 2 lakh. The kidney transplantation surgery of ailing Aditya will be conducted at AMRI Hospitals,” Mr Mangaraj said.
Mangaraj further informed that if necessary a decision for more help will be taken after reviewing the health condition of Mr Panda.
Meanwhile, Mr Panda has expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for help. Besides, several journalists have also thanked the Odisha CM for the prompt help.
