As per the report, the container truck owned by one Geofast transport company was carrying a cigarette consignment from Hyderabad to Kolkata in the morning when the loot took place.
After chasing the truck for few kilometres on National Highway-16, looters waylaid it near Ugratara forest and overpowered the driver. Subsequently, they tied his hands and legs to throw in the forest and ran away with the vehicle.
The driver narrated the whole incident before some locals after they rescued him from the forest later in the morning.
