New Delhi : Inspired by a Hollywood movie, a cash-strapped businessman along with a college student planned a loot at Kotak Mahindra bank’s Krishna Nagar branch.
However, they were nabbed due to the promptness of a security guard at the premises, who acted in the exact nick of time and foiled the heist.
The Delhi police has arrested two men, including the mastermind Prabhjot Singh (25). Shahdara DCP Meghna Yadav said Singh took the help of one Sukhdev Singh (19), a college student, to execute his designs.
Both of them have no criminal history and tried to rob the bank to earn quick money.
As per reports, Prabhjot, who runs a garment business in Durgapuri, had suffered heavy losses and was under debt. While watching the popular Hollywood flick Baby Driver, he came up with the idea of robbing the bank where he already had an account and was well aware of the layout.
Sukhdev agreed to take part in the robbery with a promise to keep a share of the looted money.
However, their plan was foiled at the first step when the security guard of the bank got into a scuffle with Prabhjot as soon as he fired a round in the air.
Prabhjot and Sukhdev were nabbed on Saturday while a manhunt is on for the third associate.
