Bhopal,December 12: The Congress will form the government in Madhya Pradesh with the help of Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samajwadi Party and others.
A delegation of Congress party comprising of senior Congress leaders Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh met Governor Anandiben Patel and staked claim to form Govt in the state on Wednesday.
With Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party and the Samajwadi Party, the Congress has 117 seats. The Bahujan Samaj Party won two seats and the Samajwadi Party one. Independents bagged four seats.
Earlier on the day, Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav offered support to the Congress as to form the new government in the state.
Our aim is to keep the BJP out of power. And that is why we have decided to support the Congress in Madhya Pradesh,” Mayawati said this morning.
“The SP supports the Congress to form the government in MP,” Akhilesh Yadav tweeted in Hindi.
