Maruti S-Cross has been gaining a lot of attention and is one of the most anticipated cars of this year. The car has been caught testing a lot of times and the launch is not very far away.
According to an online blog, the name, S-Cross will be changed for the Indian market and it will be known as ACross in India. The ACross will be not be an SUV and will be more like a hatchback based crossover and because it is based on platform of SX4, the car will have high ground clearance for better driving dynamics and will have better off-road capability. The S-Cross will also have black cladding all around. In the international market, the S-Cross comes with “Allgrip” – Suzuki’s all-wheel drive system, but to keep the cost down, Maruti may not bring the feature to the Indian market and a lot of equipment will be shared with the other Maruti models which are already available in India. The ACross will carry a long list of equipment to keep a check on the competitors.
The features will include LED daytime running lamps along with large 16-inch wheels on the top-spec variant. Inside, the car may feature a two-tone design to make it feel premium.
Powering the ACross will be a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine sourced from Fiat. The engine will make a healthy 120PS of maximum power along with 330 Nm of torque, it is mated to six -mated manual gearbox.
The ACross will carry a price tag of above Rs. 10 lakh when launched in the market and will put against the likes of Renault Duster. Maruti ACross will soon launched in the Indian market and will mark Maruti’s entry into the new segment which is still not tested by Maruti yet. Stay tuned as we bring more news about the ACross when we get it.
