Man sentenced imprisonment sends life threat letter to Odisha CM: demands extortion of Rs 50 crore.

A man sentence imprisonment in Bilaspur Central Jail in Chhattisgarh, has allegedly written a letter to Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik demanding extortion money of Rs 50 crore and life threatening him if he fails to pay the amount. Odisha government had reported the matter to Chhattisgarh government following which Bilaspur Superintendent of police Arif Sheikh ordered an immediate inquiry for the case.
The convict was identified as Pushpendranath Chouhan. With the responsibility Chattisgarh police commenced to probe the case and interrogate convict Pushpendranath Chouhan. Besides, demanding money to be transferred to his account the letter also warned the CM against informing the police, confirmed Bilaspur superintendent of police Arif Sheikh said without divulging much about the content of the letter.
“Pushpendra has confessed of writing the threat letter to Odisha chief minister. It was also ascertained that Pushpendra has written similar letters to others too, which he hasn’t revealed yet.”
