According to police, a guy has been detained in Odisha’s Jajpur district after allegedly threatening to assassinate lawmaker Nityananda Sahoo over the phone. Around 8.30 am on Tuesday, Sahoo, the MLA from Basta in the Balasore district, received a call on his cellphone from an anonymous caller. Sk Mujamil was detained in the Mangalpur region following an investigation that the Balasore police’s cyber cell launched.
He has been charged with crimes under several different Indian Penal Code provisions. It was discovered throughout the inquiry that the suspect is a habitual offender and that he previously caused a similar annoyance with another MLA.
