In a heavy rain triggered by Daye Malkangiri district witnessed flood damaging most villages and disruption of road communication. As per the report, the Fire service department of Korkonda block evacuated more than 60 villagers of MV-50. Similarly, some villagers rescued at MV-3 village.
According to the rainfall report of Malkangiri, district records 116mm. Korkunda recorded highest of 403.
Similarly, Malkangiri recorded 265mm, Mathili of 103, Khairput of 83, K.Gumma 135, Kalimela-118, Podia-56 mm railfall recorded.
Due to heavy rainfall Malkangiri-Balimela road communication disrrupted. Similarly, Kangurukonda bridge submerged in flood water affecting the road communication between Malkangiri & Motu.
To overtake the disaster in the district Administration engaged ODRAF team to rescue operation with support of fire service, police. Meanwhile the leaves of officials cancelled for emergency service.
