Bhubaneswar,Octiber 25: The Odisha Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee on Thursday launched a campaign titled Swabhiman Sankalp Samabesh at the party headquarters here in Bhubaneswar to pitch voice against increasing atrocities against women in the State.
Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik inaugurated the campaign that aims at raising voice against increasing atrocities against women in the state. The campaign also seeks a complete ban on liquor in the state.
Many leaders and workers of the party from across the State were present in the programme.
President of the Odisha Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee, Sumitra Jena announced about the campaign launch at a press meet on Tuesday where she alleged that both the BJD and BJP governments failed to bring 33 percent reservation for women in the Parliament and the State Assembly.
