One case of gangrape and two separate cases of rape were registered in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on Thursday.
In the first case, a 17-year-old school dropout alleged that she was taken to an isolated spot by her neighbour and his associate, where she was raped by the two.
“The victim was brought to the police station by a couple who found her crying near the Kalia Sot dam. The victim alleged that her neighbour, who happens to be a woman, had taken her to the spot on the pretext of a job. The minor alleged that on her way, she was partially blinded after he accused rubbed something on her eyes. At the spot, the woman held the victim down while two men raped her,” said police while referring to the victim’s statement.
Police also claimed that about two years ago, the accused woman had registered a harassment case against the relative of the victim.
The case is currently being verified by the police to check if the complaint was genuine or an attempt to take revenge.
In another case, a 16-year-old girl of Bagh Sewania area in Bhopal alleged that she was raped by a man five months back. The accused was identified as Chotoo Sahu.
The victim first met the accused at a wedding ceremony where the two became friends, said police.
According to police, the accused threatened to kill the victim if she disclosed the rape. The victim initially kept quiet, however, after being repeatedly exploited, she registered a complaint against the accused.
Another rape case was registered against a 35-year-old man at the Piplani Police Station on the basis of a complaint filed by a 28-year-old woman.
The women alleged that she was raped for more than seven years by her colleague on the pretext of marriage.
