Angul,Dec.20: Scores of locals blocked Angul-Kalamachhuin road demanding compensation for the youth who was killed in a road mishap near Kuio Chhak last night.

The deceased, identified as Santosh Nayak (45), was a PDS dealer. As per sources, Santosh died on the spot after being hit by an unidentified vehicle when he was walking on the village road.

The agitating locals staged road blockade by burning tyres demanding compensation for family members of the deceased. Following this, vehicular movement on the route came to a standstill.

On being informed, police and district administration officials reached the spot in order to pacify the agitators.
