The ‘Legends League Cricket 2022’ series, which is set to begin in September, will be played three times at Cuttack’s Barabati Stadium.
On Tuesday, the organisers of Legends League Cricket announced the full schedule and venues for the tournament’s second season.
The three matches scheduled for Barabati will take place on September 27, 29, and 30.
The tournament’s matches will be held in six cities: Kolkata, New Delhi, Cuttack, Lucknow, and Jodhpur.
All grounds will host three matches, with Jodhpur and Lucknow hosting two each.
The Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host a special match between Sourav Ganguly’s Indian Maharajas and Eoin Morgan’s World Giants. The match will mark the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.
“For our fans and viewers, the wait is over. With the announcement of the fixtures, they will be able to plan for the matches. We will soon announce our ticketing partner, as well as the dates for online ticket sales. With a lineup of iconic players from the ten nations in a new format, I am confident that fans will witness powerful performances on the field and a successful season this year.” Legends League Cricket Co-Founder and CEO Raman Raheja stated.
Raheja also stated that several international players have been brought on board to participate in the tournament. However, there will be no Pakistani players in the upcoming season.
“No Pakistani players will be joining us for the upcoming season.” More international players will be added to the Draft shortly. And all of our Legends would play the entire season with us, not missing any games for any other League or commitment,” he added.
The playoff sites have yet to be determined. However, Raheja has stated that they are targeting Dehradun for the season finale.
