First images from the site showed the aircraft completely broken up with debris strewn over the runway and beyond.The incident took place amid very heavy rainfall in the area around 7:40 pm.

Rescue Operation Underway:NDRF chief
NDRF chief SN Pradhan told NDTV that rescue operations are on in full swing in Kerala.
“Whole idea is to take the passengers to safety. 24 or more than that ambulances, as per one of my officers were told, have reached. Doctors have also reached,” SN Pradhan said.
“There’s waterlogging everywhere. In fact, the land plane skidded is filled with water. I think we are equipped for it. We will be working as civil aviation directs us,” he added.
