Srinagar,Nov.28: The terrorist who had escaped from police custody early this year had attended a funeral of another terrorist in Shopian district.
He is the self-styled Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Naveed Jatt,news agencies reported. Photographs of Jatt attending the funeral have been posted on social media, reports added.
Police sources said Jatt escaped from police custody in February as he was being taken to Shri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital here for a medical examination. Two policemen were killed in a shootout at the hospital.
Jatt is accused of murdering Rising Kashmir editor Shujaat Bukhari. He was shot outside his office at Press Enclave here on June 14.
Jammu and Kashmir Inspector General of Police Swayam Prakash Pani said Bhukhari’s murder was executed by three LeT operatives.
