The actor-turned-politician took to his social media account and posted a 1 min 29-sec video, where he has expressed his regret for the unfortunate incident.
In the video, the Kendarapara MP first termed the incident as unfortunate which has also left him disturbed. Mohanty said: “I have high respect for the media and always support it all means. But two days ago what happened with the journalist of OTV has left me disturbed. I never intended this and I am also unhappy about the incident.”
The parliamentarian also stated that after former MP Baijayant Panda lost from him in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the TV channel run by his family, OTV, has been running a campaign against him to malign his image. He said that the TV channel has been continually assailing his character, humiliating and annoying him.
Before concluding his message, Mohanty also urged Baijayant Panda not to disturb him. “I humbly request Baijayant Babu not to bother me while I serve the constituency,” Mohanty said.
