KCR, as Rao is popularly known, met Patnaik on Sunday evening at Naveen Niwas (residence of Odisha CM) to discuss an alternate front ahead of the Lok Sabha polls next year to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Centre and the Congress.
Speaking to reporters soon after the much-talked about meeting, KCR went on showering praises on Naveen and his government. “He is a selfless political leader and a tall personality of the country,” KCR told the media appreciating Naveen’s political acumen.
Responding to queries regarding the Odisha government’s recent initiative for farmers in the State, KCR said: “I really heartfully congratulate Naveen Patnaik ji for his very good initiative for the farmers.”
“He (Naveen) is a very senior chief minister of the country and and he has been a lot of good things for the State of Orissa and I have not an iota of doubt. He is a good role model,” the TRS President claimed.
Recalling how Biju Patnaik (former Chief Minister of Odisha and father of Naveen) was fighting against the emergency period in the country, KCR said: “He (Naveen) is a true Biju sena and we are really proud of him.”
Besides, hailing Naveen’s move for reservation for women, the Telangana Chief Minister said he supports the move of Odisha Chief Minister on 33% reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies.
In his part, Naveen too didn’t miss the opportunity and promptly congratulated KCR, who led TRS to a landslide victory in assembly election earlier in the month.
Days after he was sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Telangana for a second term, KCR on Sunday embarked on a mission to cobble up a Federal Front.
