The Prime Minister reminded the audience that India never let its spiritual and service legacy fade away, even during the difficult period of slavery for centuries.
“India is a nation where treatment is a service, wellness is a charity,” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi today during the inauguration state-of-the-art Amrita Hospital at Faridabad today.
Among those present were Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Chief Minister Manohar Lal, and others.
Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister stated that as the country enters the Amrita Kaal and collective aspirations and resolutions take shape, it is fitting that the country receives the nectar of Sri Mata Amritanandamayi’s blessings.
Dwelling on India’s great tradition of service and medicine, Modi stated, “India is a nation where treatment is a service, wellness is a charity, and health and spirituality are intertwined.”
“We have medical science as a Veda,” he added. Our medical science has also been given the name Ayurveda.”
The Prime Minister reminded the audience that India never let its spiritual and service legacy fade away, even during centuries of slavery.
He stated that this hospital is a blend of modernity and spirituality, and that it will serve as a medium for accessible and affordable treatment for needy patients.
“Amma embodies love, compassion, service, and sacrifice.” “She is the keeper of India’s spiritual tradition,” he said.
The Prime Minister went on to say that this system of religious and social institutions carrying out educational and medical responsibilities is similar to the old PPP model.
“It’s called Public-Private Partnership, but I also call it ‘Paraspar Prayas’ (mutual effort),” the Prime Minister explained.
The Prime Minister mentioned the Made in India vaccine and the type of propaganda that some people spread.
“The effect was immediate when the society’s religious leaders and spiritual teachers came together and asked the people not to believe the rumours.” “India did not experience the same level of vaccine hesitancy as other countries,” he said.
Recalling his address to the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort, the Prime Minister stated that he has placed in front of the country a vision of Amrit Kaal’s five vows, one of which (Pran) is the complete renunciation of the mentality of slavery.
“When we give up this mindset, the direction of our actions changes,” he said, adding that this change is visible in the country’s healthcare system as there is growing faith in the country’s traditional knowledge.
