Perth,Dec.18 : Australia secured a 146-run victory against India in the second Test on Tuesday. With this, the series is levelled to 1-1.
Australia dismissed top-ranked India for 140 midway through the first session to win a low-scoring contest.
All-around Australia displayed a dominating performance after resuming the day on India 113 for five, India lost Hanuma Vihari (28) to Mitchell Starc early.
However, his fellow overnight batsman Rishabh Pant (30) continued to show some resistance and tackle the Australian bowlers before he was dismissed by Nathan Lyon. Later, Umesh Yadav (2), Ishant Sharma (0) and Jasprit Bumrah (0) went back with a duck.
While spinner Nathan Lyon managed to pick up 3 wickets by giving away 39 runs, Mitchell Starc also grabbed 3 wickets by giving away 46 runs.
The Boxing Day Test is scheduled to be held from December 26 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, where both the teams will try to win the series.
