The lone tigress left in the Satkosia tiger reserve in Odisha has reportedly gone missing, raising fears that the park may be devoid of tigers. She hasn’t been seen in the 795-square-kilometer tiger reserve in almost two months.

According to reports, she has not been seen in the 795-square-kilometer tiger reserve for the past two months.

According to sources, she was last seen on November 23, 2021, on a trap camera installed by the Forest Service.

Sashi Paul, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, attempted to minimize news of her disappearance.

“Several sanctuaries are now doing a tiger census. As a result, the cameras have been relocated for counting,” he explained, citing reasons for the Forest Service’s inability to locate the huge cat.

“At Satkosia, we’ll bring in more cameras and try to trace her movements as soon as possible,” he said.

After being taken from the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh in 2018, the Odisha government embarked on an ambitious tiger translocation operation in which a tigress, Sundari, and a male tiger were released in the Satkosia sanctuary.
