The Odisha connection may be found in the blockbuster smash Pushpa-The Rise, which has become the highest-grossing Indian film of 2021, with over Rs 300 crore worldwide.
M Ramakrishna nicknamed Shatru, a native of Odisha’s Bargarh area, plays police Inspector Govindappa in the multilingual film.
People from the western Odisha district and the rest of the state are expressing their pride in Shatru for his outstanding performance in the film, which also stars Telugu superstar Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandana.
Shatru was born into a farming family of late M Satyanarayan and late Sarojini Devi in Sarla village, Sadar block, and received his education at Godbhaga Kosala School. He also used to help his father on the farm. He went on to Ravenshaw University to earn a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology.
Shatru arrived in Hyderabad ten years ago with the goal of becoming an actress. He established himself in the industry with modest roles in various Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada films.
The actor rose to prominence after portraying Ramaraju in Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha (2016). After playing the character of Pindaari chief in Bahubali 2, he sought stardom.
He has also appeared in films such as Leader (2010), Kathakali (2016), and Kadaikutty Singam (2018).
