The doctor allegedly failed to stop by the hospital’s Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) on Saturday night, according to the children’s relatives.
The paediatric department at a state-run hospital in the mineral-rich district allegedly suffered from negligence, as evidenced by the death of 13 children in a period of 18 days, according to NK Das, the minister of health and family welfare for the state of Odisha.
Following a large-scale protest at the hospital serving the Keonjhar area, where protesters demanded that doctors be held accountable for their claimed negligence that resulted in children’s deaths, the minister took action.

The doctor allegedly neglected to visit the hospital’s Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) on Saturday night, when vital patients were receiving care. Children died as a result of this.
Kishore Prusty, additional district medical officer in Keonjhar, acknowledged that three kids had passed away in the previous day.
