The Odisha Government has decided to invest Rs 7.62 crore for the beautification of the Bindusagar Lake near the shrine of Lord Lingaraj in Bhubaneswar to attract tourists.
The State Tourism department has set a deadline of two years to complete the beautification of the holy Lake.
The lake will be cleaned and beautified with musical fountains and laser lighting. Arrangements will also be made for people to sit and enjoy, said Nitin Bhanudas Jawale, Director of Tourism.
Owners of the houses surrounding the lake will also be asked to paint their houses in the same colour so as to create a beautiful setting, he added.
