The Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will stake claim to form the government on Saturday.
Home Minister Amit Shah said that the BJP will get the chief minister post whereas the JJP will get the deputy chief minister post.
“Manohar Lal Khattar to be chief minister, JJP to get deputy CM post,” Amit Shah said.
Amit Shah also said that the BJP-JJP alliance will run the government for the next five years.
Commenting on the developments, incumbent Haryana CM ML Khattar said, “We will give a stable government. The process will start tomorrow in Chandigarh.”
When asked about the support of Independent MLAs, Khattar said that many had extended their support to the BJP.
JJP leader Dushyant Chautala thanked Amit Shah and assured that the state of Haryana will get a stable government. He emphasised that stability was required in the state.
“We believe our alliance was necessary for stability in Haryana,” Dushyant Chautala said.
“We will meet the governor and follow the course of action. Haryana will go on the path of development,” Dushyant Chautala said.
Eliminating unemployment, giving 75% jobs to locals, free treatment for cancer patients and people with chronic illnesses, and pension to elderlies are amongst the few promises made by the BJP to JJP, sources had said earlier.
