Balasore: A lady high of Krushnabhanu High school in Baliapal area of Balasore district has brought charges of sexual harassment against the headmaster of the school.
In her complaint, the lady teacher alleged that the headmaster of the school, Ratikanta Jena, was forcing her to maintain physical relationship with him. Besides, Jena has threatened the victim with dire consequences in case of divulgence of the matter.
The victim further stated that though she alerted the District Education Officer (DEO), lodged a complaint in the local police station and even tried to attract the attention of the district collector through his grievance cell about the matter, but no one paid any heed to her complaint.
Terming the allegations as baseless Jena stated that the lady teacher is trying to tarnish his image by levelling such false allegations.
On the other hand, responding to the matter Minister of Mass Education department, Samir Ranjan Dash had directed Balasore DEO to furnish a detailed report about the matter by yesterday evening. The Minister further stated that based on the report action against the accused will be taken if proven guilty.
In a recent development Dash today informed that the preliminary investigation revealed that there is no truth in the allegation levelled by the lady teacher against the headmaster of the school.
However, in order to ensure that functioning of the school is not affected the headmaster and two other teachers along with the complainant have been transferred, the Minister said.
