On Monday, a floating carcass of an 8-foot-long saltwater crocodile with a GPS tracking device attached to its tail was discovered.
The deceased crocodile was discovered floating on the lake by residents, who then alerted the forest officials.
After being told, forest officials went to the location and found the reptile’s body. According to DFO, it appears that Satakosia Forest Department installed the GPS.
To determine the cause of death, an autopsy was performed on the body.
