New Delhi,Dec.10 : In order to build a consensus for the smooth functioning of the two Houses, the Central Government has called an all-party meeting on Monday ahead of the winter session of Parliament.

The results of assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram would be out on December 11, when the session begins. This would be the last full-fledged Parliament session before the Lok Sabha polls early next year.

The results of the assembly elections, in which both the ruling BJP and the Indian National Congress have high hopes, are bound to affect the parliamentary proceedings.

During the Winter session, the BJP government would push for the ‘triple talaq’ bill pending in the Rajya Sabha. The government also wants the Indian Medical Council amendment ordinance and the companies amendment ordinance to be passed as bills in the Winter session.

Notably, the Winter Session of Parliament, which usually starts in November got delayed for the second year due to the assembly elections in five states.
