Bhubaneswar,Dec.31: The Commissionerate police today arrested an alleged fraudster popularly called as ‘Golden baba’ here for allegedly duping a resident of Barbil in Keonjhar district.
The accused was identified as Jyotiranjan Beura.
The Chandrasekharpur police arrested him following interrogation at the police station.
According to reports, the police had been searching for the golden baba for a long period in various fraud cases following a complaint was lodged by a victim from Barbil.
Total 19 cases are registered against him in various police stations.
Wearing gold jewelries, he was attending the BJD’s various programmes identifying himself as the party worker in Bhubaneswar.
The ‘Golden baba’ reportedly owns four luxury cars.
Earlier, he was residing at Niladri Vihar area. Later, he was spotted in Kalarahanga, on outskirts of Bhubaneswar and he subsequently fled to Delhi.
