Nov,10.11: On the eve of Diwali a friendly cricket match was organized on Wednesday at Police play ground between Police personnel and Media personnel. Malkangir SP Jagamohan Meena joined the said match as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the match.
SP Meena headed the team SP-11 as a captain in the said match followed by DSP Dlip Kumar, IIC Soumendu Sekhar Tripathi, Shree Panigrahi, Jugal Sabar, Raja Janga, Bitu Nayak, Susant Rout, Silu Bhupati, Santosh Sethi, T Kirshani & Gobinda Jani.
Similarly, in Media-11 Jitendra Behuria (Captain), Gopi Patnaik, Nifranjan Malla, DURGA Pattnaik, Prasad Nayak, R Pradhan, Mahendra Panigrahi, R K Purohit, Ranjan Nayak, Bitu rao, B Behera, Prakash Pattanaik, Bikram Padhi and Susanta Suna participated. The said match was played for 15 overs.
The Media-11 opt for bat first and in 8 overs they scored 99 runs where as SP-11 made a good chase and in 11 over they scored 102 runs and declared as winner. Mahendra Panigrahi scored the highest of 56 runs in 27 balls and similarly in SP-11, Susanta scored 40 runs from 20 balls. The said duo players were felicitated with silver coins by Press club Malkangiri.
SBI Main Branch Manager Nihar Ranjan Mohanty felicitated the players with cash rewards. The match commentary was lead by two Media persons Iswar Prasad and Ashok Mishra, similarly Umpiring was lead by Gouri Shankar Pattnayak and Bankumar Khora. About thousands of audiences along with Senior media personnel and other police officials were present in the ground to witness the game.
