The proposals were approved in the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi at the Secretariat today.
Principal Secretary Industry Sanjeev Chopra outlined the project proposals for consideration. These proposals are expected to create employment opportunities for 1,354 people in the state.
Giving in-principle approval to the projects, Padhi directed concerned departments to make a realistic assessment of the requirement of land and water for these industrial units. The departments were also asked to provide proactive and facilitating support for early grounding of the projects.
The Chief Secretary further directed the Single Window Authorities to decide on the investment proposals received at their end within the prescribed time limit without fail.
The proposals approved in SLSWCA today are principally in the sectors of metallic downstream, logistics and tourism.
The proposal of a Delhi-based company to set up a manufacturing trait for steel tubes and pipes with capacity of 1,80,000 tonnes per annum ITPA) with an investment of INR 130 crore at Kalinganagar Industrial Complex, Jajpur received nod of the committee. The plant will create employment opportunities for 600 people.
The other proposals approved in the meeting included a downstream manufacturing unit of steel doors and windows with capacity of 1,80,000 annually at Kalinganagar with investment of Rs 92 crore and employment potential of 250.
The proposal for a logistics park in Khurda also received approval of the committee. The logistics park will have warehousing facilities with 600 KW rooftop solar power plant. The facility will be utilised for storing FMCG, durable goods, apparel and pharmaceutical products. The project involves investment of INK 66.79 crore and will create jobs for 362 people.
The proposal of a Berhampur-based real estate company to set up a resort at Banthapali village in Berhampur was also approved in the meeting. The resort will include cottages, banquet hall, restaurants, swimming pool and health club. The project will be established with an investment of Rs 50.48 crore and will create employment opportunities for 142 people.
Further, the Committee recommended the investment proposals of around Rs 12,600 crore in downstream aluminum, petrochemical and chemicals sectors to HLCA for consideration.
