Bhadrak, 15 Jan. 2019: A major fire broke out at Guhalia village under Bhandaripokhari block of Odisha’s Bhadrak district late last night gutting 23 houses and charring five cattle to death.
According to reports, the fire emerged from a house of the village due to short circuit and later spread to a major portion of the locality.
In a bid to save themselves, villagers rushed out of their houses without getting time to carry their valuables and properties, which were also gutted in the blaze. As many as five motorcycles were damaged in the fire mishap.
On being informed, Fire personnel reached the village and doused the flames. Several families were rendered homeless in the incident. The cold wave conditions have coupled their woes.
