The Odisha government said on Friday that it offers financial relief to 50,952 kids who either lost both of their parents due to COVID-19 or one of them.
According to Women and Child Development Minister Basanti Hembram, 108 of the total number have been identified as having lost both of their parents and would receive 2,500 apiece.
“The government’s “Ashirbad” programme offers financial help to these kids. The funds are deposited into the recipients’ or family members’ bank accounts “She spoke.
The children who lost their parent—the family’s primary provider—are compensated 1,500 each month. Also, orphans living in a daycare facility are compensated Rs.1000 each month, according to Hembram.
The beneficiaries would receive financial assistance up until they turn 18 years old, according to the minister.
